Team Lead Stock Control

We are Europe’s fastest-growing non-food discounter, operating a rapidly expanding logistics network with 16 Distribution Centres across NL, FR, DE, PL, ES, IT and SK. In June 2025, we opened our first DC in Spain (Illescas, Toledo) to further support our growth in the Iberian market. Action is now moving to the next level by opening a new insourced Distribution Centre in Banyeres del Penedès, Tarragona.

Your mission

Reporting directly to the Process Manager. The main focus of the Team Lead Stock Control is ensuring that the team’s objectives are achieved through the optimal deployment of staff and resources.

This includes planning, coordinating and supervising the execution of tasks relating to the physical and administrative stock-taking at the distribution center, and managing the team members. Ensure that physical stock is aligned with stock in SAP. Optimize the warehouse layout to ensure the shortest possible path for Order Pick and IPL.

Key accountabilities and areas of responsibility

1. Operational Management

  • Review and validate operational data and KPIs, such as service level, cycle count, pick & bulk accuracy, stock mutations , family groups, worked / absent hours, productivity metrics and other relevant indicators
  • Monitoring and ordering of consumables needed for operation such as stretch foil, RCs etc.
  • Assessing the expected workload, drawing up a plan, allocating tasks based on established priorities, and monitoring the execution of tasks in accordance with the plan
  • Monitoring stock levels and the product range (quantities, expiry dates, active or inactive products) and overseeing the periodic stock-taking process
  • Monitoring and analyzing existing warehouse processes, identifying (structural) disruptions and problems, and proposing and contributing to the implementation of improvements
  • Monitoring compliance with and the correct implementation of health, safety and environmental policy, and ensuring a well-organized and orderly department; possessing sufficient knowledge of the Safety Management System (SMS) and associated procedures, and ensuring that this knowledge is actively shared with (direct) colleagues
  • Compiling and tracking (time) data and relevant key performance indicators, analyzing and evaluating this data, and informing stakeholders where necessary
  • Taking the initiative to achieve current objectives in collaboration with other relevant departments
  • Submitting suggestions for improvement to the process experts

2. Execution

  • Reorganizing the location of items based on changing print runs, stock requirements, changes to the product category, item group, family group, product information and legal guidelines, and ensuring the corresponding transport is arranged by the IPL department
  • Ensuring the correct and timely entry and processing of stock-related data and providing reports and notifications
  • Recording and updating administrative elements for logistics master data
  • Overall control of the daily task list, family groups, batch errors, etc.

3. Management

  • Clearly leading a team, taking on a leadership role, giving clear work instructions and organizing staff and activities in such a way that objectives are successfully achieved
  • Actively working to improve staff skills through constructive feedback, instructions, explanations and coaching
  • Motivating staff, clearly demonstrating the impact of the targets to be achieved, fostering a positive attitude towards work and inspiring a strong drive to perform among team members

What we are looking for

  • At least 3 years of working experience in a similar job preferably in a retail/logistics environment
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, Catalan is highly valued
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Works efficiently and effectively, even under time pressure
  • Is highly organised, can structure activities and projects, adheres to agreements in a timely manner and in accordance with guidelines
