This is your daily action
As a Facility Specialist, you make sure all Action distribution centres, hubs, and offices — are fully supported with the right facility services, maintenance, safety processes, and equipment.
You play a key role in enabling the primary logistics process by ensuring facilities never become a bottleneck for operations.
You will coordinate suppliers, oversee facility contracts, improve processes, support projects, and help execute the facility strategy. From waste management and installations to long-term maintenance planning and soft services, you make sure our sites operate safely, efficiently, and in line with legal and internal standards.
You will report directly to the Facility & Equipment Manager and be part of a team of 6 Facility specialists and experts within our Facilities Management Team.
Meet your team
- Facility & Equipment Management within Action is responsible for:
- Managing facility support for Action logistics.
- Ensuring building maintenance, installations, and equipment operate safely.
- Overseeing all facility related matters such as, waste management, soft services, and sustainability initiatives....etc.
- Managing European facility contracts in your domain and ensuring compliance.
- Supporting operational teams to focus on providing impeccable service level to Action stores.
- Strategic facility decisions are made at IHQ, while implantation and support on regional level. Most operational work is outsourced — you manage, coordinate, and improve these suppliers.
You will manage external service providers and collaborate closely with the operational teams, procurements and internal support department.
This is you
You are a hands on, service minded facility expert who knows how to support a complex logistics environment. You communicate clearly, take ownership, and feel comfortable working with internal stakeholders and mange performance. You combine operational know how with tactical insight — always focused on enabling safe, efficient operations.
You bring:
- Strong stakeholder influence skills, including working with senior management and suppliers
- Solid project management capability and the ability to structure work and set priorities
- A proactive, solution oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Clear communication skills (written & verbal) and the ability to de escalate under pressure
- A commercial, service focused approach with an account management mindset
- Ownership, professionalism, and responsiveness toward internal customers
In addition:
- Academic/bachelor degree in Facility Management, Technical Management, or similar
- 6+ years of relevant facility experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of hard and soft facility services
- Experience in supplier & contract management experience (regie organization)
- Experience with long-term maintenance planning (5+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of installations, building maintenance, and safety compliance
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
- Experience with OPEX budgets and CAPEX is a plus
