Process Manager Commerce

Full-time (38 hours)

Do you want to help build the commercial engine behind Europe’s fastest-growing retailer? In this role, you will work closely with our Buying and Operations departments and steer the processes that determine what ends up on our shelves. You ensure that these decisions flow through our systems quickly, flawlessly, and at scale. Want to make an impact on millions of customers, week after week? This is your chance.

Are you a results driven Process Manager who wants to work at the heart of Action’s commercial operations? Do you get energy from collaborating with Buyers, fellow process colleagues, and Technology to ensure full control over the end to end process chain — and from improving, standardizing, and automating commercial processes? Then this is the role for you.

About the Process & Systems Commerce & Supply Chain Team

You will become part of the Process & Systems team for Commerce and Supply Chain — a dynamic and growing department consisting of:

  • Process Managers
  • Process Experts
  • Data Controllers
  • Data Analysts
  • Product Owners
  • Operational Excellence Specialists

Together, we design, optimize, and safeguard the processes and systems that support Action’s rapid international growth. As Process Manager Commerce, you play a key role in improving our commercial processes — from contract creation to article onboarding, product data enrichment, and seamless integration with Supply Chain and Store processes.

You will join the Commercial Process Team, a specialized and international group within the broader Process & Systems domain. The team consists of:

  • Process Experts
  • Managers Process & Systems Commerce
  • And you, as Process Manager Commerce

The work within the team is diverse: you support strategic projects, lead major changes, test new functionalities, and handle operational challenges or incidents — for example, when we open a new country.

The mix of strategic, tactical, and operational work makes this role both impactful and varied.

In this role, you will collaborate daily with our Buyers — the colleagues who:

  • define the assortment,
  • set the prices,
  • and decide when products arrive in stores.

These are exactly the elements for which Action is known throughout Europe: surprising products, the lowest prices, and an incredibly fast time to market. And you will help shape this. You ensure that all key commercial decisions flow quickly, accurately, and efficiently through our systems and processes.

What will you do as Process Manager Commerce?

You carry end to end responsibility for core commercial processes and lead a team of several Process Experts, each responsible for their own commercial process domain. You ensure that contract creation, article onboarding, and product data enrichment run efficiently and align seamlessly with key areas such as Commercial and Supply Chain Planning.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing your team of Process Experts
  • Taking ownership of core commercial processes (contracts, article onboarding, data enrichment)
  • Safeguarding data quality in S/4, STEP, and Mendix, and translating business needs into system requirements
  • Leading and executing process and system changes, including testing, documentation, roll out, and performance monitoring
  • Driving standardization and automation to ensure scalability and simplicity
  • Managing incidents and providing operational support when needed
  • Monitoring process performance, analyzing bottlenecks, and implementing improvements
  • Connecting stakeholders from Buying, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Stores, and Technology

You report to the Manager Process & Systems Commerce.

You have strong analytical and process driven skills and understand how commercial data flows through an organization. You can switch easily between detail and strategy, and you enjoy guiding content experts.

You are a match if you:

  • Have an academic level of working and thinking
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in process management, preferably within retail-driven organizations
  • Have experience with systems such as S/4, STEP, and Mendix (or comparable contract onboarding, article enrichment, and ERP systems)
  • Communicate clearly and are able to simplify complex processes
  • Work proactively, structured, and result oriented
  • Enjoy collaborating with Buying and other commercial stakeholders
  • Know how to build support and connect teams
  • Naturally focus on continuous improvement and standardization

What do we offer?

Quite a lot, actually! From our bustling headquarters in the Netherlands, you'll have an impact across the whole of Europe. We're now up to more than 3000 stores in 14 countries and millions of smiles from our customers – and we're not stopping there, because we have big growth ambitions for both Action and you. Our growth means you can always take new steps to develop as a professional, whether that means a different position, an interesting innovation project or new skills. And you can do all that in a culture where we truly live our shared values: customer focus, teamwork, simplicity, discipline, cost-consciousness and respect.

You can also count on Action for the following:

  • 24 days' holiday with the option to buy five additional days (based on 38 hours per week)
  • A competitive salary based on a 38-hour week
  • The option to spend up to 40% of your hours working from home (in coordination with your team and manager)
  • 15% staff discount on your purchases at Action
  • A good pension scheme, collective health insurance and travel allowance (Zwaagdijk-Oost is reachable from Amsterdam by car in just 30 minutes on uncongested roads).

How we contribute to society:

If you only know Action from the stores, a world will open up for you when you join us. For example, we are working hard behind the scenes to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,000 children worldwide who are growing up in an SOS Children’s Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 124 nationalities? That we already source 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton sustainably? And that only energy-efficient LED lighting is used in more than half of our stores? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we’re facilitating? Join our team and find out for yourself.
