YOUR DAILY ACTION

Working at Action isn't like working at any other company. With more than 3,000 stores, distribution centres, hubs, crossdocks and an ambitious growth plan, our supply chain is always evolving. As Process Expert Inbound Logistics, you will play a key role in shaping and improving our Inbound processes - with a focus on simplicity, scalability and system excellence.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Requirements translation & testing
    • Capture clear business requirements from the Inbound Logistics team and translate them into actionable IT specifications
    • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during system implementations and upgrades
    • Ensure solutions delivered by IT and partners fully meet operational needs before go-live
  • Process creation & optimisation
    • Design, document and continuously improve Inbound Logistics processes
    • Identify and remove bottlenecks to increase visibility, traceability and efficiency across Direct Import flows
    • Ensure processes are simple, scalable and future-proof as Action continues to grow
  • Partner & system connectivity
  • Manage EDI connections with strategic Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and other external partners
    • Act as the liaison between Action and partners for system integration and data exchange
    • Ensure stable and reliable connections between Action's systems and third-party platforms
  • Day-to-day operational support
    • Serve as the first point of contact for system-related questions or issues within Inbound Logistics
    • Work closely with IT, external consultants and the business to resolve issues quickly and effectively
    • Coordinate with stakeholders across the organisation and keep them informed of progress and changes
    • Support the business in achieving their operational KPIs — while not owning KPIs yourself, your work is critical in enabling the business to meet theirs

CURRENT KEY PROJECTS

Our team is currently heavily involved in a number of major strategic initiatives. As a new team member, you will contribute to these projects:

  • SAP Transportation Management System (TMS) — Inbound implementation
    • SAP TM has already been implemented for Outbound. We are now entering the Explore phase for Inbound — evaluating partners and defining the solution architecture
    • You will work alongside Solution Architects, Domain Architects and a Project Manager to find and onboard the right implementation partner
    • This project will significantly improve our visibility and capability in transport management for Direct Import
  • SAP S/4HANA rollout across the supply chain
    • Supporting the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA across Action's supply chain
    • Ensuring day-to-day process continuity during a complex and multi-year transformation
  • Network expansion
    • Supporting the opening of new warehouses, HUBs and transportation lanes across Europe
    • Ensuring Inbound processes and systems are ready and scalable for each new location

MEET YOUR TEAM

The Process Improvement team is part of the Process Development and Support department within the broader Supply Chain organisation. The team consists of Process Managers and Process Experts, each with a dedicated area of expertise: Inbound, Supply Chain Planning, Distribution Centres, Outbound and Transport.

As a team, we ensure that Action's supply chain runs as smoothly as possible — so hundreds of thousands of products reach our 3,000+ stores every single day. Your main stakeholders will be the Business (Inbound Logistics teams) and IT, with regular collaboration with external system partners and consultants.

THIS IS YOU

You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You are curious, structured and analytical — and you have a natural affinity for both systems and logistics processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field
  • 1–3 years of work experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain environment
  • Affinity with IT systems and process improvement; experience with SAP or TMS is a plus
  • Strong communicator in English - both written and verbal - able to bridge business and IT
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects with different stakeholders

A motivational letter is highly desirable - we would love to understand what drives you and why this role appeals to you.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A job at the international headquarters of one of Europe's fastest-growing retailers
  • Market-based salary based on a 38-hour work week
  • 24 vacation days, with the option to purchase 5 additional days
  • Flexible working hours in coordination with your team and manager
  • Extensive learning & development opportunities through Action Academy
  • A company laptop and mobile phone
  • Real career growth opportunities — Action is growing, and so can you

How we contribute to Society

If you only know Action from the stores, a world will open up for you when you join us. For example, we are working hard behind the scenes to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,000 children worldwide who are growing up in an SOS Children’s Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 124 nationalities? That we already source 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton sustainably? And that only energy-efficient LED lighting is used in more than half of our stores? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we’re facilitating? Join our team and find out for yourself.
