Your daily “actions”
The Manager Internal Audit leads the Internal Audit team, consisting of 6 Internal Audit professionals. You will work together with the Internal Auditors on operational audits, follow-up activities, or special assignments across all disciplines and in all countries where we operate. It is your responsibility to ensure robust internal control by planning, managing, and performing various types of audit activities. Your audit work results in action-oriented reports that add value for management, along with structured follow-up on agreed action plans.
In addition to managing audit activities, you are responsible for defining the Internal Audit strategy in collaboration with the Head of Risk Assurance. This also includes the multi-year and annual Internal Audit plans. When determining the strategy, you closely align with Action’s strategic objectives.
You will guide the Internal Audit Professional Practice, continuously improve audit processes, and safeguard the quality of work performed, in accordance with the principles of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Stakeholder management is essential in this role. You build and maintain relationships with our business teams and act as a sparring partner. You review the Internal Audit sections of the quarterly Risk Assurance report, prepared by the Internal Auditors, and discuss the results with the Director Risk Assurance and management. You serve as the primary point of contact for our external auditors to ensure optimal coordination between internal and external audit activities.
You ensure the Internal Audit team functions optimally by coaching Internal Auditors during audit activities and providing direct and constructive feedback to guarantee quality and top performance. You encourage the team to actively contribute to new ideas and to continue developing themselves.

Risk Assurance supports the entire international Action organization in identifying risks and defining and implementing measures to control them. Our activities span from product procurement to in-store sales. Risk Assurance consists of the teams: Risk Management, Privacy, and Internal Audit. With our multi-disciplinary team of specialists, we have all the expertise needed to support Action’s various domains with complex issues. This is you
As Manager Internal Audit, you are proactive, results-oriented, and perform excellently under pressure. You possess strong communication and leadership skills and demonstrate your ability to manage your team and other stakeholders. You are an analytical thinker and can easily relate Action’s strategic goals to operational business processes and financial results.
Additionally, you have:
- A Master’s degree in economics or a related field, supplemented with a post-master qualification such as RA, RE, or RO
- At least 10 years of audit experience in the audit practice of a large professional organization up to senior manager level, supplemented with experience as an external auditor at director level or in a leadership role in the risk and audit function of a large corporate organization
- Solid knowledge of Corporate Governance, risk management, internal control, and internal audit standards
- Ability to apply audit standards pragmatically and relate them to financial information
- Knowledge of and experience with Audit Management Systems
- Experience in retail is a plus
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
