Manager GL Accounting
Manager Financial Services – General Ledger Accounting – Zwaagdijk
Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for structure, control, and leadership? Do you want to play an important role within a fast-growing international organization? Then the position of Manager General Ledger Accounting at Action in Zwaagdijk may be the perfect fit for you.
What will you do?
As Manager General Ledger Accounting, you lead a specialized team responsible for the financial processing of fixed assets, inventory, lease, and housing costs across the entire organization.
Your responsibilities are broad and strategic in nature and include the following:
- Inventory
The largest balance sheet item at Action. You are responsible for processing inventory counts in stores and distribution centers (DCs), monitoring and recording provisions for obsolete inventory, breakage, and shrinkage. - Fixed assets
Action’s rapid international growth is accompanied by continuous expansion of stores, DCs, and strategic IT projects. These must be accurately recorded in the fixed asset administration and regularly monitored for potential impairments. - Lease
A major difference between internal reporting and external reporting relates to the presentation of lease costs for stores, DCs, trucks, trailers, and more. This complex accounting area also receives significant attention during the annual audit. - Housing costs
This includes rent, energy, and maintenance costs for the entire organization, representing—after personnel costs—the largest expense category within operational expenditures (OPEX).
You work closely with your own team and with colleagues within the Finance Services team, business controllers, local finance teams in various countries, and departments such as Supply Chain and Real Estate. In addition, you collaborate with the Project & Process team within Finance Services on financial projects aimed at process optimization and further scalability. You are also responsible for implementing system changes (such as in SAP), including testing, quality assurance, and the financial integration of new countries.
In short: a versatile, complex, and high-impact role in which you are not only operationally responsible but also actively contribute to the further professionalization of Finance within a rapidly growing international organization.
What do we offer?
- A key role within an ambitious, international Finance department.
- Attractive salary package with strong secondary employment benefits.
- Plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development.
- 24 vacation days, with the option to purchase 5 additional days.
- Pension scheme and collective health insurance.
- Company car or mobility allowance, company laptop, and smartphone.
- 15% employee discount on purchases at Action.
Who are you?
- An experienced and results-driven leader with an eye for detail and control.
- University degree, supplemented with a post-master RA or RC qualification.
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
- Experience in a leadership role, preferably in an international context.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and audit processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at both strategic and operational levels.
- Experience with SAP S4 or ECC-FI/CO and SAP-AFC is an advantage.
