Health & Safety Coordinator
We are Europe’s fastest-growing non-food discounter, operating a rapidly expanding logistics network with 16 Distribution Centres across NL, FR, DE, PL, ES, IT and SK. In June 2025, we opened our first DC in Spain (Illescas, Toledo) to further support our growth in the Iberian market. Action is now moving to the next level by opening a new insourced Distribution Centre in Banyeres del Penedès, Tarragona.
Your mission
As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you help ensure a safe, compliant, and well‑run distribution center. You act as the key link between Action Logistics, the external prevention service, and the ADR safety advisor. You coordinate HSE activities, support Seveso and APQ compliance, monitor day‑to‑day safety, and facilitate continuous improvement across the site.
You are not the legal prevention expert, your role is to coordinate, follow up and ensure execution of technical requirements provided by external specialists.
Key accountabilities and areas of responsibility
Prevention service coordination
- Serve as primary site contact for the prevention service;
- Coordinate annual prevention plans, risk assessments, health surveillance, audits and trainings;
- Follow up on corrective actions and keep documentation organized and compliant.
Daily HSE monitoring
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report unsafe conditions;
- Support incident reporting and information gathering for investigations;
- Help maintain emergency preparedness, including annual drills.
Training, procedures & site support
- Align procedures with Spanish HSE legislation and Action policies;
- Coordinate site HSE training schedules and record‑keeping;
- Support workplace condition improvements.
Governance & stakeholder engagement
- Chair the local Safety Committee and ensure follow‑up of actions & liaise with site union;
- Support site management with local authorities;
- Liaise with emergency services and neighboring facilities.
Seveso coordination
- Maintain Seveso documentation and dangerous substance inventory;
- Coordinate Management of Change processes;
- Organize annual Seveso drills and collect performance indicators.
APQ coordination
- Maintain documentation for APQ‑regulated installations;
- Coordinate inspections, testing, maintenance and corrective actions;
- Support compliance with industrial/environmental license conditions.
Coordination with external experts
- Facilitate data, access, and logistics for the prevention service and ADR safety advisor;
- Track implementation of recommendations and escalate delays;
- Maintain all HSE, Seveso, APQ and ADR documentation.
Competences
- Coordination and facilitation: Orchestrates activities across departments and with external experts to ensure coherent HSE, Seveso, APQ and ADR implementation;
- Organization and planning: Structures work, keeps records up to date, tracks deadlines and follows up on actions;
- Result orientation: Focuses on achieving tangible improvements in safety performance and compliance status;
- Technical awareness: Understands key concepts well enough to recognize issues and communicate effectively with technical specialists;
- Stakeholder management: Builds and maintains constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including authorities during inspections.
What we are looking for
As a H&S Coordinator, you will part of the DC Manager’s team and you will bring to the table a wide number of skills like:
- Studies: Grado superior or above;
- HSE qualification (PRL);
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing or similar;
- English: Fluent (spoken and written);
- Experience working with external prevention services;
- Knowledge of Spanish HSE legislation, Seveso, APQ and DC operations;
- Willingness to collaborate with the ADR safety advisor;
- Experience in safety inspections and compliance checks;
- Knowledge of incident investigation and emergency procedures;
- Strong planning and coordination;
- Clear communication;
- Proactive and collaborative;
- High attention to detail;
- MS Office proficiency and other related software.
Your day to day at work will take place at the DC in Banyeres de Penedès Distribution Center this is an on-site position, full-time presence.
There will be some occasional travels for meetings with the prevention service, ADR advisor or corporate HSE functions as required.
