The Business Insight department is part of department Group Business Control. The Business Analyst reports directly to the Team lead Business Insights.
In this role he/she is responsible for the data and report quality in SAP (for example BO/SAC) and function/business domain specific systems (for example; Databricks, Power BI, ServiceNow, Planon).

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB


The main purpose of the job is to assess and to manage the quality of data and reports (Completeness, Accuracy, Timeliness, Restricted Access, Validity) in SAP and function/business domain specific systems that facilitate data driven financial insights. This role supports the organization by pro-actively monitoring and analyzing financial data and the relationships of financial data driven insights within the organization.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Strategy and input year plan/budget

 

  • Identifies improvements in reporting that support the planning, budgeting and forecasting process.

 

Financial planning and control

 

  • Participates in management updates and add his/her view to the current organization developments 
  • Identifies areas for report quality improvements and helps to resolve data/report quality problems through the appropriate choice of error prevention, detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies. 

 

Analysis and management information

  • Delivers complete, accurate, timely and controlled management reports
  • Manages, analyzes, and resolves data issues and manages revisions needed to reports in order to best meet internal and customer requirements 

 

Business partnering and management advice

 

  • Delivers complete, accurate, timely data driven insights (both financial as non financial) on an ad hoc basis, depending on questions from within Business Control


Internal controls and compliance

 

  • Provides assistance in resolving report quality problems through the appropriate choice of error prevention, detection and correction, process control and improvement 
  • Assists in report management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data/report owners to ensure functional data/report integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements. 
  • Ensures data integrity in key systems as well as maintaining the processes to support the data driven reporting quality. 
  • Ensures effective and high quality of standardized reporting, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional report owners to support ongoing maintenance and data/report integrity. 

 

Projects

 

  • Work closely with the business/IT to ensure alignment of data/report rules and the operations of the application to meet all requirements. 
  • (Proactively) Advise Product Owners and the Team lead Business Insights how to further improve the data/report quality in the different systems and in the execution

COMPETENCIES (Business analyst I & II)


REQUIREMENTS – HARD SKILLS

 

  • Experience working with industry standards (e.g. GS1, UNSPSC), regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems. 
  • Experience working with relational databases. 
  • Experience working with Report Management tooling (e.g. SAC/BO/Power BI) 
  • Experiences in data administration, design, and architecture. 
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience working with SAP (e.g. SAC, Business Objects, S4 embedded analytics) and other BI tooling (e.g. Databricks, Power BI)
