Data Scientist - Forecasting
Data Scientist – Forecasting
Are you passionate about transforming large volumes of data into predictive models that directly shape business decisions? As a Data Scientist – Forecasting, you develop advanced predictive models that drive smarter business decisions, operational excellence, and measurable impact across one of Europe’s fastest‑growing retailers. In this role, you help teams embrace data‑driven decision‑making and deliver solutions that positively impact daily operations.
What will you do?
- Translate business questions into testable analytical objectives.
- Collect, clean, and prepare structured and unstructured data for modelling.
- Perform exploratory analyses, build descriptive and diagnostic insights.
- Design robust experiments including A/B tests, holdout strategies, and cross validation.
- Develop or improve forecasting models, applying statistical, machine learning, or deep learning techniques where required.
- Deploy and integrate models into production following MLops principles.
- Set up monitoring for accuracy, drift, and system performance
- Collaborate with Technology and with business teams in Supply Chain and Commerce, to embed solutions in the daily operation.
This is what your day could look like
You start your morning by checking the performance dashboards of the demand forecast, especially since you deployed an improvement recently. You notice a subtle drift and investigate the root cause. Too bad the improvement didn’t work, but no worries, you already had an alternative plan in mind. In the afternoon, you have a meeting with some business stakeholders and tell them the bad and the good news. After everybody agrees with your plan, you start directly, because it requires you to engineer some features from a newly ingested data source in our data lake. This will keep you busy for the next few days, which will be challenging, but fun.

- Competitive salary and secondary benefits.
- 24 vacation days (full time).

You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical colleagues and enjoy building solutions that improve forecasting accuracy, optimize operations and support strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Econometrics, Data Science, AI, Operations Research or a similar quantitative field.
