DC (Warehouse) Manager
We’re offering an exciting chance to become the DC Manager of our new Distribution Center in Banyeres del Penedès. You’ll jump in during the final build phase, drive the setup, and lead the recruitment and training of your team—getting everything ready to supply over 200 Action stores. This site will quickly grow into a 3-shift operation with around 300 colleagues. Like this? Keep reading!
Your job
Working at Action is not like working anywhere else. With over 3,000 stores across Europe, 16 distribution centers, hubs, and cross docks—and an ambitious growth plan—our supply chain never stands still.
Your first focus will be to get up to speed quickly by supporting our international colleagues involved in the build phase and selecting your local team. You do this with one goal in mind: delivering the best possible service to our stores. While we currently operate an outsourced DC near Madrid, DC Banyeres will be fully managed by us. You’ll report to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and be part of the Regional Management Team for Spain, Portugal, Italy and Slovakia.
To stay connected, you’ll visit our other DCs—including our very first DC in the Netherlands, where our International Head Office is located. This is your chance to learn how we run our operations, how Action works and thinks, and build strong relationships, so we only need to invent the wheel once.
Once the DC is operational, you’ll lead your teams and oversee daily deliveries. You’ll turn start-up decisions into long-term success. As the site stabilizes and store numbers grow, you’ll lead the site through shift model development, scaling from initial operations to a full 3-shift setup as volumes grow. This is a team effort—with you at the helm. Together with your team you’ll build a safe, secure, and high-performing operation aligned with the Action standards. Action’s Supply Chain operates in a matrix structure, meaning you’ll work closely with our European teams in Process, Transport, Human Resources and Facilities to actively secure the right support for your site.

- Lead all DC operations and teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient operations;

Meet your team
Every week, over 11 million customers visit one of our 3,000+ stores across Europe—and we’re still growing fast, with new stores opening daily and new distribution centers every quarter. It’s a major logistical challenge: moving 6,000+ products efficiently and at the lowest cost. Our Supply Chain team, now 13,000 strong, keeps the shelves full. We operate across 7 countries and will expand further in the years ahead. You’ll work closely with our international colleagues, as well as central teams in Process, IT, Facilities, and Transport.
This is you
You know your way around international Supply Chains and thrive in the fast-paced world of retail logistics. The chance to build and lead your own DC from the ground up excites you. Safety, performance, and continuous improvement are in your DNA. You think ahead, but you act now.
You’re someone who spots opportunities to improve store deliveries and knows how to align with international experts to make it happen. You engage your team—building strong relationships with colleagues, the works council, and unions. You combine long-term planning with a sharp focus on daily operations. You’re structured, reliable, and deadline-driven—but pragmatic when needed to get things done.
Maybe you’ve done this before and want to do it again. Or maybe this is your big step forward—into a role that grows with you as the DC evolves or as you step into Regional Leadership or specialist roles.
You bring:
- A master’s degree in Logistics, Operations, or a related field;
- 7–8+ years of experience in retail logistics, ideally with a few years in a similar role;
- Solid understanding of transportation and how it fits in the bigger picture;
- Experience with ERP, WMS, and MS Office tools;
- Strong background in labor relations and working with unions, with a clear results focus;
- Familiarity with European DC networks and ways of working;
- Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written);
- Lean certification? That’s a plus;
- Strong organizational skills, structured approach, and ability to follow through;
- A hands-on, pragmatic mindset.
