Country Communications Manager (Benelux)
(Fulltime, 38 hours per week)
As our country Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic extension of the communication plan and strategy for Benelux. In this region, you will build a strong reputation towards our external stakeholders, and you will make a great contribution to engage and inform our country employees. This is your daily action
As Country Communications Manager for the Benelux region you are part of the Communications department at our international headquarters, and you will report to the Head of Communications. You develop the communications activity plan for the countries, in alignment with the company communications strategy, and you tailor centrally developed communication tools and content to ensure they resonate within the local market context.
Your main tasks:
- Develop communications activity plan for a specific country, in alignment with the company communications strategy, and ensure execution of planned activities
- Proactively contribute to the strengthening of the reputation of Action in your countries, adapting the company communications strategy to country specific priorities
- Build on and adapt centrally developed communications tools and content to make them fit for country specific use
- Primary contacts with the PR and PA agencies in the countries responsible, establish year plans with agencies, responsible for execution of planned activities, setting and monitoring budgets
- Support of General Managers and Country Management Teams on communications issues
- Media relations, in cooperation with the PR agency and the General manager. Responsible for press releases, interviews and press events, media briefings, key messages, Q&As and answer press inquiries and requests.

As Country Communications Manager for the Benelux region at Action is an entrepreneurial, proactive professional that executes with a certain pace of urgency. You are result orientated and you have the capability to adapt easily to all levels within and outside our company to achieve common targets together. You are very organised and able to structure activities and projects. You always stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines.
In addition
- 10 years of relevant experience in an international or retail organization
- University Degree in Communications, Journalism or another relevant area (e.g. Economics, Business)
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English and one or more other European languages
- Flexibility to sometimes work on weekends
