CRM Data Analyst

Full-time / Part-time, 32–38 hours per week

Do you want to turn data and technology into experiences that truly connect with customers? As a CRM Marketing Automation Analyst you’ll play a key role in building and optimizing automated campaigns that strengthen relationships and drive loyalty. With millions of customers across Europe and a rapidly expanding digital landscape, your work will ensure we don’t just communicate—we engage. You’ll help us boost Customer Lifetime Value, turn shoppers into true Action fans, and transform communication from push to pull—making it relevant, personal, and impactful. Your contribution will shape how we attract, retain, and delight our customers.

As the go-to analyst for CRM, you’ll thrive in a dynamic Scrum environment, leveraging tools like Google BigQuery, Databricks, and Looker Studio. Your mission? Transform complex customer data into clear, actionable insights that fuel campaigns, promotions, and retention strategies. By combining data-driven insights with key KPIs, you’ll create strategies that not only look good on paper but deliver measurable impact. You’ll work hand-in-hand with marketers, product owners, and developers always using data to put the customer at the heart of every decision.

Some examples of your tasks:

  • Collaborate with CRM, Marketing, Digital, and Data Engineering teams to embed automation into the customer experience
  • Analyze the performance of omni-channel customer journeys and provide recommendations and insights on automation opportunities and improvements
  • Build and optimize segmentation strategies based on lifecycle stages and behavioural data
  • Set up and monitor A/B tests to improve campaign performance
  • Ensure data quality implementation for accurate targeting and reporting
  • Create dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention
  • Provide actionable insights on customer preferences and (changes in) customer behaviour across our channels
  • Collaborate with the team to build and maintain a central and solid data foundation to create a 360-degree customer view
  • Stay up to date with best practices in marketing automation and personalization
  • Translating business/CRM/Segmentation needs into new opportunities/roadmap and if needed validate and create testscenario’s

You’ll be part of a data-driven team that values curiosity, initiative, and impact. Whether working from home or our headquarters in Zwaagdijk, your contribution will help us connect with customers in smarter, more personal ways.

Your team

With tens of millions of fans across Europe, we keep surprising them week after week. We are constantly expanding the Action brand using a data-driven approach and by working in agile teams.
Customer Insights is a crucial part of Action’s business strategy and plays a key role in continuously improving the customer experience. This team focuses on collecting and analysing customer data to gain in-depth insight into our customers’ buying behaviour and preferences.

The team explores patterns and trends in customer data, leading to valuable insights. These insights are then used strategically to optimize our product selection, marketing initiatives, and shopping and online experience.
Our biggest challenge? One voice and one format, online and in more than 3,000 stores in 13 different countries. Learning new things every day and working with the best colleagues to make our popular brand even more successful is what makes us happy. Does this apply to you, too?

This is you

You are enthusiastic about using data to better understand people. You love digging into patterns, asking the right questions, and working closely with stakeholders to find the story behind the numbers. You’re comfortable handling large datasets and skilled at turning analysis into action.

In addition:

  • Extensive experience writing SQL and/or PySpark queries and performing exploratory customer data analysis; Python skills are a plus
  • Familiar with tools like Google BigQuery, Looker Studio and Databricks
  • Experience with CRM or Marketing Automation platforms and/or campaign management tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Selligent, Emarsys,  Bloomreach, or Adobe Campaign)
  • Experience with a Customer Data Platform (CDP)
  • Good communication skills in English and strong data storytelling ability
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation (for example, RFM), personalization or predictive modelling
  • Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams is a strong plus

What we offer

Surprisingly much! From our international headquarters in the Netherlands you have an impact on what happens in our stores across Europe. We welcome more than 15 million customers every week in more than 3,000 stores in 13 European countries. We have great growth ambitions. For Action and for you. Because our growth means that you can always take new steps. A different position, an interesting innovation project, new skills: you can continue to develop as a professional. And all this in a culture where our shared values are truly lived: customer focus, teamwork, simplicity, discipline, cost conscious and respect.

Did you know that you can also count on us for:

  • A market-based salary based on a 38-hour work week
  • 24 days of holiday and the option to buy 5 extra days (based on 38 hours per week)
  • A fixed contract with the intention of offering you a permanent contract in the long term
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of working up to 40% from home, of course in coordination with your team and manager
  • 15% staff discount on your purchases at Action
  • A good pension scheme, collective health insurance and travel expenses allowance (Zwaagdijk-Oost is traffic jam-free and only 30 minutes by car from Amsterdam)

How we contribute to society

If you only know Action from the stores, a world will open up for you when you come and work with us. We work hard to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,500 children worldwide who grow up in an SOS Children's Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 155 different nationalities? That we purchase 94% of our wood products and 100% of our cotton sustainably? And that almost all our stores only use energy-efficient LED lighting? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we’re facilitating? Join our team and find out for yourself.
