As a Media Strategy Specialist (Product and Price), you are responsible for safeguarding the strategy that drives product and price communication across all markets. Together with the wider media team, you contribute to a media strategy that drives product consideration and traffic into our stores, always taking the full media funnel into account. Your decisions are grounded in marketing science, internal customer insights, and a structured test and learn roadmap that pushes our digital maturity forward.
Your role is to ensure we take the right strategic direction, make the right digital choices, and continuously evolve our approach. You guide our external agency or in-house specialists, providing frameworks, priorities, and strategic clarity.
This is your daily action
In this role, you combine strategic oversight with a clear understanding of how the work is executed day‑to‑day.
You set the strategic priorities for digital channels. Across paid social, display, video, search, and beyond, you determine where to focus, how to evolve our approach, and what the next frontier of digital sophistication looks like for Action. You bring depth of understanding without getting lost in execution detail.
You also maintain a solid working knowledge of traditional media. You understand how TV and radio fit into the broader media mix, how they interact with digital channels, and how to factor them meaningfully into planning and evaluation conversations.
You lead with a test-and-learn mindset. You own and evolve a structured experimentation roadmap, ensuring that insights from across the channel mix are captured, evaluated, and fed back into strategy in a way that builds genuine organisational learning.
You act as a strategic sparring partner, for agencies, for in-house specialists, and for the broader media team. You bring a well-grounded point of view, ask the questions that sharpen thinking, and create the conditions for others to make better decisions.
Main responsibilities
- Safeguard the strategy for product and price communication across all markets, ensuring every decision aligns with the broader full-funnel media approach and contributes to measurable mid and low-funnel outcomes
- Provide strategic direction and priorities to external agency and in-house specialists across digital and traditional channels, building strong relationships grounded in clear frameworks, shared ambition, and mutual accountability
- Oversee the strategic quality of digital channel execution, including paid social, display, video, and search, challenging approaches where needed and ensuring all decisions are aligned with our long-term strategy & vision
- Own and evolve a structured test-and-learn roadmap, ensuring experiments are well-designed, learnings are systematically documented, and insights are actively fed back into strategy to advance Action's digital maturity
- Collaborate closely with the broader media team to align on full-funnel strategy, channel priorities, and ways of working
- Contribute to cross-channel measurement frameworks that assess mid and low-funnel performance, digital effectiveness, and the interplay between traditional and digital channels across markets

You're comfortable operating across a broad channel mix and you bring a level of depth on digital that makes you a strong sparring partner for agencies and stakeholders alike.

You are a strategically minded media professional with deep knowledge of digital channels and a genuine curiosity for how media drives business results. You have moved beyond hands-on platform management and now bring your expertise to bear at a strategic level, guiding others, shaping direction, and elevating the quality of digital decision-making across the organisation.
You are grounded in marketing science. You understand how to drive consideration and traffic effectively, how digital and traditional channels interact across the funnel, and how to build a test-and-learn culture that generates real insight over time. You bring customer thinking into your work and you know how to translate data into strategic direction rather than just operational actions.
You are a natural collaborator and a confident sparring partner. You work closely with agencies, in-house specialists, and the broader media team, bringing clarity and conviction while remaining open to challenge. You lead through frameworks and priorities rather than direct execution, and you create the conditions for specialists around you to do their best work.
You follow digital developments closely and bring that curiosity into how you evolve Action's approach. You are ready to take ownership of a strategically important role and grow alongside a media function building towards something significant.
In addition:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in both traditional and digital media
- Strong, strategic understanding of digital media channels (paid social, display, video, search) and how they drive mid and low-funnel outcomes
- A high‑level awareness of the tools and technologies used in execution (dv360, smartly, Meta business manager) is a plus.
- Experience guiding or managing external agencies and/or in-house specialists
- Familiarity with marketing science principles and how they apply to mid and low-funnel planning and evaluation
- Experience owning or contributing to a structured test-and-learn or experimentation roadmap
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate insights into strategic direction
- Experience in retail or e-commerce is a plus
- Experience in (international) media agency
- Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
